Image
17 Feb 2026 What is up everyone! Okay for the title, I was just thinking of this song. Everyone go listen to it I miss it so much. It has been a great week at the MTC, and my spanish has definitely been improving. The days are getting repetitive and feel slow but weeks go by fast. I couldn't believe it but I have been a missionary for 1 month now!! LETS GO!!! Boy oh boy the adventures in here are so fun. We copped a mini fridge from some elders, and now we have cold drinks. BOOYAH! Its actually so clutch🙏 Sad news of the week... Unfortunately, I had to say some goodbyes to the goats. Shoutout Elder PaePae, Wright, Deer, Barney, Bingham, Call, and Amato. Yall were for real a huge light and gonna do amazing things out there. I also got DEATHLY ILL this past week😭😭 There is a plague going around the MTC, and it is bad. Hopefully the worse passed but I was dying Monday morning. But I am okay now. God is good! Spiritual Thought for the week: Last night, we had the amazing opp...

Provo MTC "Almost Killed Someone"

Image
11 Feb 2026 Okay quick story... a couple days ago during our break my companion and I tried rainbowing a metal water bottle. Basically popping it up above our heads. And all the sudden I got it! But it went STRAIGHT BACKWARDS and almost domed one of the sisters right in the face. Whoops... super funny though everyone was good and we were all laughing. Here's a video I have been so busy with language and studying the gospel and its amazing! Very draining though I am so tired now. Days go slow, but the week has flown by. My language teacher is a big fan of my accent and wants to match ties with me because we have the same one😛 we are pretty much best friends now. I also learned a new phrase "LA PELOTA DE FUEGO" Life here is just so fun and I'm so excited to share the joy of the gospel with others. During our branch prayers we all just end up laughing and can't focus the whole time. Also what's with the no snow here?? I was fully expecting to be walking thr...

Provo MTC Week 1

Image
4 Feb 2026 Hola a todos! This has been my first week in the Provo MTC and it has been amazing. For those who don't know, the MTC is a place where all missionaries go to learn about the gospel and deepen their knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I will be here for 6 weeks to learn Spanish as well. Imma be real, the food here is actually solid and not clapped. I met my companions and district. They are all so amazing and so excited to grow together. In class, my companion Elder Helton likes to giggle and just make stupid faces and I always laugh. He said "man if I were to knock on someone's door, I'd understand if they close the door in my face" and I BURST out laughing. This place brings pure joy and a true understanding of this eternal happiness God wants everyone to feel. The hardest thing for me is missing family and friends. Seeing some of you at BYU before I left was such a special experience, and I am so grateful for you all. Some people don...

Home MTC  January 19-26th  Farewell Party January 26th  We threw together a last minute farewell party.  Originally we were going to have it Sunday night but there was a youth fireside so did a last minute switch to Monday and it all worked out great.  Tyler felt loved, so many people came to say goodbye and he felt loved and so excited for his mission.  I felt so overwhelmingly blessed that so many people showed up to support him.   Airport OAK to SLC January 27th  We woke up super early Tuesday morning to bring Tyler to the airport.  Danny, Heidi, Kira and Blake went to the airport to send him off and he was all smiles and super excited.  He flew to Salt Lake and hung out with Grammy and Grampy, went to the temple with them which they loved.   SLC January 27th to January 28th  The next day Tyler arranged with all his BYU friends to stop by at the WILK when they could. So many people came to say goodbye to ...

Farewell Talk

FAREWELL - January 18 2026 Grammy, Grampy, Michelle, Turin, Lindsey, Richard, the Maddox Family and Justin, Gabe, Morgan and Owen came from Northgate. We had nachos afterward. It was a fun day. Here is my talk..... "Good morning, brothers and sisters. My name is Tyler McMillan. I have been in this ward for around five years now and will be set apart as a missionary tonight. I was called to serve in the Spain Madrid North Mission, and I cannot wait to live among the people of Spain and help bring them closer to the Lord. When I think of what and who has inspired me to serve a mission, it includes several people and experiences that can be summed up in one scripture. When the Lord was asked which commandment was the greatest, Jesus replied: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” President Nelson said, “The L...
